Anker PowerCore 20100
Macfixit.com is the source of this Anker PowerCore 20100 Power Bank review. I was asked to review any product on their website. However, I discovered that they sell more than just Apple accessories. Because the Anker name is well-respected in the USA, I selected an Anker power bank.
The Anker PowerCore20100 box contains a power bank battery, a welcome manual, and a USB-to-micro USB charger cable. A mesh carry case is also included. To view the Anker PowerCore20100 unboxing photo in full size, click the thumbnail image above.
Powerbank Tips
Anker offers a variety of portable battery chargers with capacities of up to 20000mah. There are also smaller models with lower capacities and larger models with a 26800mah capacity.
26800mAh is the highest capacity power bank. This is due to their popularity with travelers. Under aviation laws, you cannot transport laptops or batteries with less than 27027mAh (100 watt-hours).
External batteries can lose charge over time, but it takes around 2-3 years for the Anker PowerCore 2100 to drain completely.
Also, it is essential to note that power bank chemicals can become less active if left unattended for prolonged periods. It would help if you recharged your Anker Powercore at least once per 120 days to extend its life.
The Anker PowerCore 20100 will charge your devices. The LED indicator will display the remaining power of the power cord and turn it off when it is fully charged.
The remaining power of the LED indicators will continue to light while the power core charges. The subsequent charging LED indicator will turn on when it is fully charged. They will also turn off once the PowerCore 20100 has been fully charged.
The PowerCore 20100 will only damage your device if it can charge at 2.4 amps, e.g., 1 amp. It will only provide the maximum amount of charge amps your device allows.
Did you know that 30-40% of external power banks’ battery capacity cannot be used due to efficiency issues that affect all electronic devices? The reasons include power lost from circuit heat and voltage changes from the battery, charging cable, and your device. The battery can supply 60-70% of its 20100mah power to the devices it demands.
For example, if your phone has a 3000mAh battery, the Powercore 20100 can recharge it flat 4-5 times. It all depends on how old and high-quality the charger cable is.
The PowerCore20100 Portable Charger is compatible with Apple iPhones, iPads, and other Android phones with USB-C ports. However, the Anker PowerCore20100 box does not include a micro USB charging cable. You must bring your own Apple lightning cable and USB-C cable to capture these devices.
Anker strongly recommends using your original charging cable or a third-party certificated cable (MFI) to connect your device with the Anker PowerCore20100.
Its Benefits
This Anker 20100 4.8-amp model weighs in at 356g/ 12.6 oz. It has a capacity of 20000mah and is lightweight, making it ideal for those needing transport. Fast charging PowerCore+ 20100mAh USBC model weighs in at almost 500g.
Compared to another battery bank brand Xiaomi, the Mi Power Bank 16000mAh ModelNDY-02-AL weighs 360gm. It is slightly heavier than the Anker PowerCore20100 and has a 4100mAh less battery capacity.
Anker Powercore 20100 is an excellent battery bank for gadgets not supporting Qualcomm Quick Charge. It has a 2x 2.4 Amp USB charging port, the fastest speed at which an iPhone or iPad can charge. It can charge up to two devices simultaneously. Please note that the maximum output current for two ports simultaneously is 4.8A.
Modern compact digital cameras can charge via USB. This battery bank is helpful for when you go camping or go on safari without a PowerPoint.
It’s not good for
Anker’s battery bank can recharge Android phones and tablets that support Qualcomm quick charge (QC). It will take longer than a wall charger or power bank that is QC-enabled.
The battery bank comes with a micro USB port that you can use to recharge the battery bank. It will take approximately 11-12 hours to fill your battery bank with a 2-amp wall charger. It would take 22-24 hours if you used a 1amp wall charger.
